Including and excluding VAT in a software price
Sage quotes cloud products including VAT and Pastel products excluding it. Put both on the same footing and the order changes.
Read the guideMade for South African buyers. Every price in rand, read from the vendor.
Price and plans · HR
3 products on the register meet this rule: BambooHR, PeopleHR and Sage HR. Products with a starting price above zero and under R300 in rand. A per user or per employee price is the price of one.
Every price is the vendor's own, in rand, with the date it was read, the latest on this list being 11 October 2026. A product is here only where its own pages state it. A product that is not here may still do it: the pages the register read do not say, so ask the vendor and ask to see it work.

Read the guideLeave under the BCEA comes first
Many HR products are built in Britain, America or Europe. What a South African employer should check: leave under the BCEA, how HR meets payroll, the personal information it holds and what it costs for each employee.
Read the guideNot always. A cheap plan that cannot read your bank or prepare your return costs hours every month. Price the whole sum, including the extras and your time.
A price per user multiplies by your team and a price excluding VAT needs 15 percent added. The register prints the basis next to every price.
