All prices are in rand. Where a vendor lists in dollars, pounds or euros we convert at R16.53 per US dollar, R21.86 per pound and R18.53 per euro (European Central Bank reference rates, via Frankfurter, 9 OCT 2026).

Amounts written out in the text of this review are at the reference rate of 2 October 2026. The charts and the calculator use the rates above, so a figure can differ by a rand or two.

How to get started

How to, 3:30, published 17 June 2025. From the monday.com channel on YouTube.

A video loads from YouTube only when you press play. The still picture before that comes from YouTube's image servers.

What it is and who it is for

monday.com builds work management around boards and configurable columns. Free allows up to three boards, up to three Docs, more than 200 templates, eight column types and mobile apps. Basic adds unlimited items and unlimited free viewers. Standard adds three workflows, 250 automations a month, Timeline and Gantt views, calendar view, guest access and 1,000 API calls a day. Pro adds 20 workflows, 25,000 automations a month, private boards, advanced columns and 10,000 API calls a day.

South African fit

The page makes no South African claims. Support round the clock is listed only on Enterprise, so confirm support hours for the plan you buy.

How it compares

Against Asana, monday.com is more configurable and visual. See the full comparison.

Strengths and limits

Strengths

  • Boards, workflows and dashboards you shape yourself
  • A free plan for up to two seats
  • Unlimited free viewers on Basic
  • More than 200 templates, and CRM, service and dev products from the same vendor

Limits

  • Prices are shown for ten seats, which can overstate the need of a smaller team
  • Timeline, Gantt and calendar views start on Standard
  • Round the clock support is listed only on Enterprise

Who it suits

Best for

  • Teams that want to design their own boards, workflows and dashboards
  • Businesses that want free viewers and flexible views
  • Teams that also want CRM, service or dev products from the same vendor

Think twice if

  • You are a team of fewer than ten, because the page shows the price for ten seats
  • You need Gantt and calendar views, which start on Standard
  • You want round the clock support, which the page lists only on Enterprise

In short

A flexible platform for a team that wants to build its own workflow. Check the seats you will really pay for, and which plan holds the views you need, before you commit.
